"Mayan Masquerade" is my 2004 Amaco Creative Porcelain Design Competition
entry. It is made of Amaco's Creative Porcelain. This modeling compound has the advantage of being able
to utilize a plastic form as it is air dried. I seem to have fallen into a "patina" rut. Creative Porcelain is naturally
a warm white color. The surface color of this mask is a combination of Pearlex and acrylic paint.
2004 Iowa State Fair Fine Art Entry
This "Twisted Sisters" sculpture is the largest that I
have done to date. The tallest figure measures in at 14". They are made of polymer clay with an acrylic patina
wash.
"Twisted Sisters" took "1st Place" in the Sculpture division and "Honorable Mention Overall"
at the 2004 Iowa State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition.
